Michael Irvin Compares Kirk Cousins to Tom Brady and Peyton Manning

Kirk Cousins, the veteran quarterback, led his club to a thrilling victory in front of the Philadelphia crowd, proving that Atlanta’s gamble on him had finally paid off. Everyone was reminded of Kirk’s pre-injury form by his impressive performance. In fact, Hall of Famer Michael Irvin backed the experienced quarterback with just one play.

Kirk led the team to victory in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter with a 70-yard play that culminated in a 7-yard touchdown throw. Irvin was so impressed with Cousins during his podcast discussion that he made comparisons to Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.

“He just looks like a leader. I said Man, I know we don’t have Tom Brady and Peyton Manning anymore but Kirk Cousins looks like them. That’s what he looks like and he got some weapons. I’m telling y’all, don’t give up on Atlanta.”

Irvin believes Cousins still has a few tricks in his sleeve, and if he plays at the same level, his team has a chance to contend for the postseason. Irvin continued, saying that everyone laughed at him when he said Cousins would win MVP a couple years ago, but the prediction came to pass.

He therefore thinks the seasoned quarterback can lead the Falcons to a similar result. For those who are unaware, Cousins finished in the top 10 of the NFL MVP voting in 2022 after leading the Vikings to a 13-win regular season and a trip to the playoffs.

In addition to Irvin, Cousins also won over Colin Cowherd, an analyst, with his game-winning touchdowns and newly established rapport with the offense.
