NFL Rival Marlon Humphrey Refers to Patrick Mahomes as a “Chubby Fast Dude”

NFL player Marlon Humphrey thinks that people might be tricked by their looks, particularly in the case of Patrick Mahomes. In the NFL opener last Thursday, Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens cornerback 27–20, leaving him furious.

In the rematch of the AFC Championship Game, Mahomes—the two-time MVP—threw for 291 yards and a touchdown, leaving Humprey and the Ravens with little chance. In a recent Punch Line podcast episode, the former first-round pick discussed the defeat. He also disclosed how challenging it is to play against Mahomes, even though he has a “dad bod”. Humphreys said :

“What makes [Mahomes] very good is he does some pretty wild stuff,”

“Which sometimes catches him out but a lot of times he doesn’t.

“He gets away with a lot just because he’s always willing to test it, willing to try it.”

“He’s a chubby fast dude. I’m always amazed when he’s outrunning people or juking poeple in the backfield, getting out of a sack and just launching the ball.”

Patrick Mahomes talks about his “Dad Bod”

NFL fans have been discussing Mahomes’ unathletic build in several years. In a recent interview with TIME magazine, the 28-year-old defended his body type, stating that “some padding” is necessary for a quarterback. Through the Daily Mail, Mahomes told TIME:

“I definitely have the dad bod a little bit,”  “I’ll also say I have a great body for a quarterback. You’ve got to have some padding in there to take the hits that we take.” “It kinda surprised me,” “I thought we got the whole dad bod thing out of the way last offseason, last season actually in the playoffs.”

“But I guess people still haven’t realized that I don’t have abs.

“So, I’ll continue to work on that and hopefully, one of these days we can figure out how to get a looser t-shirt.”

This season, Mahomes wants to lead the Chiefs to an unprecedented victory. No club in the history of the NFL has ever won three straight Super Bowl championships.
