Rasheed Wallace Blasts Anthony Edwards as Netizens React

The internet is unable to stop scratching its heads over the former NBA champion’s insightful remark regarding Anthony Edwards. Anthony Edwards, a star player for the Minnesota Timberwolves, has stirred up controversy with his remarks against Michael Jordan, the legendary Chicago Bulls player.

Numerous NBA players, supporters, and commentators have already voiced their thoughts regarding Edwards’ forceful claims about the players and opposition Jordan experienced while in the league. Apart from the censure expressed by fellow athletes, Edwards has also faced backlash from an ex-NBA player.

American basketball coach Rasheed Wallace said that Anthony Edwards isn’t even as good as Derrick McKey in response to Edwards during a recent interview on The Sheed & Tyler Show. Wallace said,

“At this point in [Anthony Edwards’] career, he’s not better than a Derrick McKey, he’s not better than a Grant Hill, he’s not better than a Scottie Pippen. I’m talking both sides of the ball. Derrick McKey was a defender, and he would give you a solid 14, 16, 18, and he was a solid defender. [Ant] Is improving, but he’s not that defender yet.”

Fans react to Wallace’s comments about Anthony Edwards

Basketball fans started debating Wallace’s statement and sharing their thoughts on X (Twitter). Here are a few of them :

Jordan was the only player in his era with exceptional skill, Edwards said in an August interview with the Wall Street Journal. Edwards claimed that Jordan’s skill set protected him from fierce competition. He added that current NBA players possess many of the amazing skills that Jordan displayed during his professional tenure.

A number of NBA players and previous greats have already commented on Edwards’ statement. Seeing how many responses the Timberwolves star receives will be interesting.
