Scottie Pippen Says A $30K And $30 Watch Both Tell The Same Time While Talking About Meaningful Life

NBA legend Scottie Pippen recently dropped some wisdom, saying that a $30K watch and a $30 watch both tell the same time. And you know what? He’s not wrong! It’s all about perspective, right?

I mean, think about it. Whether you’re wearing a designer watch or a cheap one, they both do the same job of telling time. It’s a reminder that material possessions don’t define us or our worth. Life is about more than just fancy things – it’s about how we live, how we treat others, and the impact we make in the world.

Pippen explaining how he finds love and laughter in simple, inexpensive things had this to say in an Instagram post;

“As you get older, you’ll realize that a $30,000 watch and a $30 watch both tell the same time. A Gucci wallet and a Target wallet hold the same amount of money. A $10,000,000 house and a $100,000 house host the same loneliness. And a Ford will also drive you as far as a Bentley. True happiness is not found in materialistic things, it comes from the love and laughter found with each other. Stay humble… the holes dug for us in the ground are all the same size.”

Pippen’s caption clearly explains the importance of saving money rather than wasting it on unworthy things. The Bulls legend, who recently reacted to his ex-wife’s split from Marcus Jordan, emphasizes that at the end of life, everyone will go to the grave empty-handed, leaving all their wealth behind.

Pippen, who played a significant role in popularizing the NBA around the world during the 1990s, earned $2,775,000 in the final year of his contract in 1997-98. According to Marca, the former NBA player’s net worth is around $20 million, which is relatively low compared to the more than $100 million he earned in salaries. He held endorsement agreements with Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Right Guard, Frito-Lay, Visa, and Ameritech Cellular TV.

So next time you catch yourself getting caught up in the rat race of trying to have the best of everything, remember Scottie’s words. A $30k watch may be nice, but at the end of the day, it’s just a watch. Focus on what matters and enjoy the little things in life.
