I mean, come on, Duke has had some incredible players over the years, and now they have Cooper Flagg tearing it up on the court. That’s no small feat. KG must see something special in this guy.

Just imagine what it would be like to see Flagg balling out in the NBA someday. I can already picture him making those crazy dunks and hitting clutch shots. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.
But you know, hype is one thing, living up to it is a whole other challenge. Flagg’s got a lot of pressure on his shoulders now, with KG’s words amplifying the expectations. But if anyone can handle it, it’s him. He’s got that killer instinct and work ethic that separates the superstars from the rest.
“He’s got that superstar potential that you can come in, put product behind him,” Garnett said on Ticket & The Truth
“I could see kids wanting to be like that and play like that,” he added.
Hype has surrounded Flagg throughout his high school days, as he was the No. 1 prospect in the 2024 recruiting class before committing to the Blue Devils (via 247Sports).
The 17-year-old won the 2024 Gatorade Boys Basketball Player of the Year Award after averaging 16.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.7 blocks per game while shooting 54.8 percent from the field with Montverde Academy.
Flagg eventually earned a spot on the USA Select Team, helping the U.S. men’s national team prepare for the Paris Olympics. He stood out in scrimmages and earned the praise of Orlando Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley, who also served as head coach of the select team.
“He kicked butt here,” Mosley said, per ESPN. “There’s a respect factor for what he’s done. People who have not seen him play, as he gets himself going within the game, they quickly see what he can do.”
Cooper Flagg is the real deal. He’s got that ‘superstar’ potential that KG sees in him. And I can’t wait to see him dominate the game, show off his skills, and make a name for himself. Get ready, world, because Flagg is coming for you!
