With the Most Costly Women’s Sports Card in History, Caitlin Clark Creates History Once More

The top WNBA draft pick of the Indiana Fever, Caitlin Clark, is causing waves off the court as well. With multiple records, including the all-time NCAA scoring title, Clark is widely considered the best player of her generation. She is a fan favorite because of her competitive spirit and half-court shots.

After agreeing to a multiyear contract with Wilson Sporting Goods, Clark became the first female athlete to own a collection. Her notable NIL partnerships include ones with Nike, Gatorade, Bose, and other companies. Over the course of four years, her rookie deal with the Fever is worth $338,000. Clark is valued at an estimated NIL of $3.5 million.

Record after Record for Caitlin Clark

These days, Caitlin is not only making history off the court, but also shattering records on it. Her autographed rookie card from the WNBA draft went up for an astounding $84,000 at auction, making it the most expensive women’s sports card ever sold.

On stage at the Brooklyn Academy of Music shortly after being chosen as the first draft selection, Clark is seen triumphantly holding up her Indiana Fever jersey in this Panini Instant one-of-one card. Additionally, Panini America guaranteed the validity of Clark’s signature on the card, adding to its already outstanding quality.

Furthermore, this wasn’t just any auction. Before it was sold for that incredible $84K, there were 79 bids made on Clark’s rookie card, indicating intense bidding.
