The New York team was devastated by the Jets‘ defeat to the Bills, particularly quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who blamed the referees for his team’s poor performance.
After Bills defensive back AJ Epenesa was given a hard penalty against himself, Rodgers even slapped the refs on a foul that helped them in a game where they even finished tied in fouls (11 apiece).
Rodgers said : “It all seemed a little bit ridiculous. Some of the fouls seemed really really rough, for example, the one AJ Epenesa gave me ” “That’s not roughness against the passer. If we’re going to penalize those fouls, we might as well play Sarcastaball. I don’t think the foul Javon Kinlaw did wasn’t that rough either.”

All of Rodgers’ remarks only serve to exacerbate his new coach Jeff Ulbrich’s poor start, and the quarterback may face NFL repercussions for his strong criticism of the referee’s work.
In terms of the actual game, the quarterback was adamant that they lost a great chance to win. Rodgers said : “We need to get going. This was a golden opportunity. Some games you win in the NFL, some games you give away. This is a giveaway. We were terrible in the red zone. We missed two field goals. Didn’t convert on a two-minute drive. We had plenty of chances. Had momentum. Had good drives. Moved the ball up and down the field. So…disappointing.”
