On Wednesday, October 3, everyone was watching the Los Angeles Lakers as Bronny James made his purple and yellow preseason debut, but his dad’s odd response to his child’s first basket took center stage once again.
The teenager had a mixed but good performance overall as the Lakers lost the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves 124-107 at the Acrisure Arena. He had trouble coming up with offensive ideas but was able to keep up with the game’s speed most of the time.

Even though the clock had not yet run out, the game was already decided when he made his first basket in “garbage time.” And viewers immediately noticed LeBron James’s response, as he watched his child score his first professional points in front of him while remaining silent.
The 19-year-old might have been upset that his team lost by 17 points as he attempts to win a fifth NBA Finals ring in 2024–2025, or it might have been a message that his own play fell short of what the NBA legend expected of his colleagues.
Even though Bronny had trouble scoring, he showed that he is a team player by recording three blocks, demonstrating that he won’t be letting his obligations slip while he is behind.
