Guess who’s back? It’s the amazing Olivia Dunne! She recently opened up about the struggles of being a social media star, and let me tell you, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows for her.
In a recent interview with Flaunt, a fashion and culture magazine, Olivia expressed her frustration about constantly being in the spotlight. Being famous on social media has perks, like getting all those fancy brand collaborations and millions of followers. But it also comes with its fair share of downsides.
While she was busy showing off her stunning new look in a mind-blowing photoshoot, Olivia couldn’t help but spill the tea on the challenges she faces as a social media sensation.
Dunne, 22, can be seen wearing an array of outfits from Nautica, Louis Vuitton and even vintage Jean Paul Gaultier, among others.
It is the latest magazine cover Dunne has graced, having appeared across the pages of Sports Illustrated a number of times since her meteoric rise began.
Dunne boasts more than 12 million followers across her social media channels and has a reported NIL valuation of $4million.
But, despite her phenomenal success so far, Dunne revealed the toughest thing about her career is fans failing to recognize her talents as a gymnast.
She said: ‘It definitely is frustrating at times.
‘The worst part is that people think gymnastics is easy when it’s not. The job is to make it look beautiful and easy. You’re not doing it right if it looks hard.
‘The social media aspect of it – I worked really hard to get to where I am in building my personal brand, and it didn’t happen in the blink of an eye. It didn’t happen in just a year. It didn’t happen because of one viral moment.
‘It happened over years of getting to know my audience, learning the algorithms, and growing my brand to be what it is today. That’s why people are so fascinated with what I’m doing.’
Dunne is now back on campus in Baton Rouge as she continues to prepare for her fifth and final season with the LSU Tigers gymnastics team.
It’s so interesting to get a glimpse into her reality and to see that it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. Props to Olivia for being so honest and vulnerable. She always keeps it real, and I admire her for that. We can’t wait to see what she does next!
