Russell Westbrook Shares A Tribute For High School Teacher

In the NBA’s history, Russell Westbrook has emerged as a highly accomplished player. At California’s Leuzinger High School, the future Hall of Famer started playing basketball. His high school coach, Reggie Morris Jr., celebrated his birthday on Wednesday. on commemorate the occasion, Westbrook shared an emotional photo on his Instagram account.

He wrote : “Happy Birthday to my brother!! I’m grateful for you coach and appreciate you more than you know I hope today you feel all the love you deserve!! Love you @classicreg

Westbrook played for UCLA after finishing his high school career. Despite not being anticipated as an NBA star when he enrolled in college, he managed to lead the Bruins to the 2008 Final Four.

He shot 33.8% from three-point range and 46.5% from the field that year, averaging 12.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.6 steals a game.

Russell Westbrook has gone from strength to strength

The Seattle SuperSonics selected Westbrook with the fourth pick of the 2008 NBA Draft, following his sophomore campaign. Westbrook’s 11-year tenure with the Oklahoma City Thunder is legendary.

In that time, he was selected to eight All-Star Games, made it to the 2012 NBA Finals, and earned the MVP Award in 2017. Westbrook played for Oklahoma City for five seasons before moving on to play for the Houston Rockets, Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Lakers, and Los Angeles Clippers.

He inked a contract with the Denver Nuggets during the summer. Russell has played in 1,162 games and averaged 21.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 8.1 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. He has shot 43.8% from the field and 30.4% from three-point range.
