Softball pitcher, Sophia Simpson, has become an internet sensation overnight. And you won’t believe how she did it. Brace yourselves, folks, because it involves a certain part of her anatomy that had everyone buzzing.
It all began innocently enough; Sophia was out on the field, doing what she does best – throwing pitches that made the batters quiver in their cleats. Little did she know that something unexpected was about to shoot her into the viral space.
Amid a game, a video was captured and posted online showcasing Sophia in action. But this wasn’t your typical game highlight. This video had a whole other level of excitement. Why, you ask? In Sophia Simpson’s first year with the Texas Longhorns, she was named a unanimous selection to the Big 12 Conference All-Freshman Team as she went 8-4 with a 3.57 earned run average over 29 appearances with 16 starts, six complete games, two solo shutouts, and one save.
Simpson struck out two batters and allowed one hit in 1.2 innings of relief during the second game of the Women’s College World Series (WCWS) Championship Series against No. 1 Oklahoma in June 2022.
Just last year, Sophia Simpson made 26 appearances in the pitching circle for the Longhorns and finished the season with a 4-1 record, a 2.60 earned run average, and two saves.
Sophia Simpson may be going viral for her looks, but her talent cannot be denied.
The 5-foot-10 senior right-handed pitcher led the Barbers Hill High School Eagles to a 42-2 record and the Class 5A state championship once before.
She had an ERA of 0.18, registered 271 strikeouts, four no-hitters, and one perfect game.
Simpson compiled a 21-0 record, allowing just 36 hits and 24 walks in 119.1 innings.
And who knows, maybe this video will become a legendary moment in Texas Longhorns softball history. After all, they say everything is bigger and better in Texas. And in this case, Sophia’s bum broke the internet, proving that even the most unexpected things can captivate the world.
