The Cowboys Can’t Actually Chase Davante Adams, Says Skip Bayless

Davante Adams is hoping to be traded to the Las Vegas Raiders. It’s obvious. The number of bidders who can rationally acquire the six-time Pro Bowl wide receiver is considerably more uncertain.

Former FOX Sports host Skip Bayless claims that the Dallas Cowboys aren’t interested in him because of the high price tag. Adams is scheduled to earn a total of $72.3 million in 2025 and 2026, but he has no guaranteed money left on his contract after this season.

It makes sense that teams are hesitant to spend top dollar on the services of a wide receiver who will shortly turn 32 given those enormous numbers.

Dallas, too? Well, traditionally, they have been frugal with their finances. Despite making Dak Prescott the highest-paid player in NFL history this summer, Jones “waited and waited” to re-sign the quarterback, according to Bayless. In fact, supporters of Bayless’ viewpoint were ready to concur with his remarks. One connected this goal to the team’s inaction about free agency running back Derrick Henry:

Others suggested that rather than giving money to Adams, team owner Jerry Jones would be better off waiting to pay Micah Parsons. Adams’ possible presence would undoubtedly improve Dallas’ chances of winning the Super Bowl. Adams presently has two other squads on top of his ideal locations, though.
