VIDEO: The NFL Could Sanction Nick Bosa For Crashing The SNF Postgame Interview Wearing A MAGA Hat

Nick Bosa is about to get himself in some serious trouble with the NFL. He crashed the Sunday Night Football postgame interview wearing a MAGA hat. I mean, talk about a controversial move.

You know, in today’s hyper-politicized world, wearing a MAGA hat is bound to stir up some controversy, especially in a professional sports league like the NFL. And crashing an interview while wearing it? That’s just asking for trouble!

Now, I’m not saying whether it’s right or wrong to wear that hat or express a political viewpoint. Everyone’s entitled to their own beliefs, but when you’re a public figure like Nick Bosa, representing an entire league, you have to be careful with your actions, both on and off the field.

Purdy was being interviewed by NBC after the 49ers win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football, as they improved their record to 4-4. Purdy was flanked by George Kittle and Isaac Guerendo, who both looked confused as the defensive end crept up behind Purdy while pointing at his hat.

Rather than say anything, he simply pointed towards the hat before jogging off, leaving Purdy, Kittle and Guerendo looking around bemused, as NBC’s Melissa Stark tried to get some sort of response.

As Bosa approached, she held the microphone towards him, saying: “Hey! Alright… Nick Bosa with a message there,” Before continuing with her questions to Purdy as Bosa ran off. While the gesture may have seemed like some harmful fun from the No.97, he may have found himself in hot water from league officials, after it emerged he could have broken NFL rules. The NFL does not allow players to make political gestures or statements during games.

As per the NFL’s 2024 rulebook, article 8: “The League will not grant permission for any club or player to wear, display, or otherwise convey messages, through helmet decals, arm bands, jersey patches, mouthpieces, or other items affixed to game uniforms or equipment, which relate to political activities or causes, other non-football events, causes or campaigns, or charitable causes or campaigns.

“Further, any such approved items must be modest in size, tasteful, non-commercial, and non-controversial; must not be worn for more than one football season; and if approved for use by a specific team, must not be worn by players on other teams in the League.”

Bosa has never really been shy about his political affiliation. He was forced to delete conservative tweets before the 2014 Draft, and had supported Trump calling former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick a “clown” for taking the knee back in 2016.

Let’s just hope that Nick learns from all this and understands the impact his actions can have on his career, his team, and the league as a whole. It’s important to be mindful of the platform he’s got and the responsibility that comes with it.

Bosa has been linked to racist MAGA propaganda in the past.
