Its Official ! “Black Panther 3” Will Be One of Denzel Washington’s Final Films

In August, Denzel Washington stated that, at this point in his Oscar-winning career, “there are very few films” remaining for him to make. Now, he is confirming that “Black Panther 3” is one of them. While on the “Gladiator II” press tour, Washington told Australia’s “Today” that director Ryan Coogler is considering casting him in the third “Black Panther” movie.

Along with a new project by Steve McQueen and a cinematic adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Othello,” it will be one of Washington’s last films. Denzel said : “For me it’s about the filmmakers. Especially at this point in my career, I am only interested in working with the best,” “I don’t know how many more films I’m going to make. It’s probably not that many. So, I want to do things I haven’t done.”

“I played Othello at 22. And I am about to play Othello at 70,” “After that, I am playing Hannibal. Then, After that, I’ve been talking to Steve McQueen about a film. After that, Ryan Coogler is writing a part for me in the next ‘Black Panther.’ So, After that, I’m going to do the film ‘Othello,’ After that, I’m going to do King Lear. After that, I’m going to retire.”

Although the Steve McQueen project is still in the works, Netflix has officially declared that it will support Antoine Fuqua’s war film, in which Washington will play the role of Hannibal, the historic Carthaginian general. Marvel has not yet made an official announcement regarding “Black Panther 3,” but given the success of the franchise, fans have been anticipating a third tentpole from Coogler.
