Tyrese Maxey of the 76ERS Has Been on Fire

Tyrese Maxey is scoring goals at a rapid pace. Tyrese Maxey, a guard with the Philadelphia 76ers, had a rare chance to begin the 2024–2025 NBA season as the team’s go-to offensive option during the first four games.

Maxey is now scoring at a career-high rate in that scenario. Maxey has scored at least 20 points in each of the four games so far. He has never accomplished that in his career, surpassing the pace set last November when the run was halted against the Toronto Raptors following an 18-point performance.

Tyrese Maxey’s terrific season so far

In terms of efficiency, Maxey’s season didn’t get off to a great start. The seasoned guard finished with 25 points on 32 percent field goal shooting in the Sixers‘ opening game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

In the team’s second game against the Toronto Raptors, he had even more trouble. Maxey only made 26% of his field goals in 40 minutes of play. Despite having trouble shooting from the field, he scored half of his 24-point effort from the free-throw line (12–14). Maxey had a chance to get back on track during last Sunday’s game against the Indiana Pacers, and he seized the opportunity. Maxey took over and led the Sixers to 45 points in a thrilling overtime game, shooting 44 percent from the field.

Maxey individually kept on course against the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday. The seasoned guard made 48 percent of his shots in 40 minutes. Maxey finished the game with 32 points after making six free throws. The Sixers still have a lot of work ahead of them, despite Maxey’s early scoring success. They are now playing without Paul George and Joel Embiid, two All-Stars. They’ve found it difficult to bounce back from those defeats as a team.

The Sixers have a 1-3 record through the season’s first four games. They aim to improve to 2-3 on the season when they play the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night.
