There was a really meaningful moment to commemorate their former quarterback Caleb Williams, despite the USC Trojans’ performance versus the Notre Dame Fighting Irish not being their finest.
The number 13 jersey worn by the current Chicago Bears signal caller is now on display atop the peristyle of the Los Angeles Coliseum after being retired by the University of Southern California.
As the university has only retired those who have received the honorable honors, USC has now retired another number to join the previous Heisman Trophy winners, including O.J. Simpson’s number 32.
The unique occasion in Los Angeles From Caleb Williams
It was a unique statement, and the university’s officials were present. “Home of the Heismans!” Jen Cohen, the athletic director at USC, posted on social media.
Williams was chosen first in the NFL draft and played for the program for two seasons, capturing the trophy in 2022. He said: “More Heisman Trophy winners than any other university. Let’s go #5 and #13… Can’t wait to celebrate you,”

The number five jersey that belonged to Reggie Bush was also returned by the institution after it was removed following the accusations that he had received unlawful sponsorships while still a college student.
