Eminem Performs “Without Me” Leaving Out “F*** You Debbie” for Fans

Eminem made his stage comeback last night for the first time since his mother Debbie passed away last week. At the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix performance, the 51-year-old rapper Slim Shady made his debut public appearance.

His mother Debbie Nelson passed away six days before the concert, which was held at the UAE capital’s Ethiad Park. Debbie passed away on Monday, December 2, following a fight with severe lung cancer.

She and Eminem, whose real name was Marshall Mathers, had been at odds for years before her passing due to many legal disputes.

Even his smash song Without Me, in which he famously yells, “F**k you Debbie,” is a song about their tense relationship. And he played that exact song during his show last night. Given the death of his mother, fans weren’t sure if he would perform the lyrics, but he decided to let the public sing them instead of altering them.

For years, his shows have been characterized by the audience singing this specific line. Tiktokker @knoxy295 posted a video from the performance that shows Eminem refraining from using profanity when referring to his mother.

The award-winning artist’s decision to refrain from singing the lyrics himself thrilled one admirer.
Since the death of his mother, Eminem has not yet made a public statement.

After she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010, the couple is thought to have gotten back together, and he promised to stop singing songs about her, such as the diss hit Cleanin’ Out My Closet.

However, nothing is known about the condition of their relationship before Debbie’s death. Eminem gave his hometown eatery the moniker Mom’s Spaghetti in 2021, referencing a line from his song “Lose Yourself.” Debbie openly applauded her son the next year when he was elected into the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame.
