Cam Newton is keeping it real when it comes to his thoughts on marriage. In a recent conversation with Dr. Sarah Fontenot on his podcast, he boldly stated that he isn’t ready to tie the knot with his girlfriend, Jasmin Brown. While he does want to get married eventually, Cam believes that marriage shouldn’t be the ultimate goal in life.
According to Cam, people often become “trauma bonded” to the idea of marriage and having children due to societal pressure. He thinks that this pressure can sometimes lead to unhealthy relationships and negative experiences. Cam sees marriage as a way for the devil to interfere with happiness, rather than something to be pursued at all costs.
“That’s the way that the propaganda of life that everybody has been putting in our faces to say, ‘ok get married, have kids, whatever.’ Not overlooking or not identifying that, that’s still a way for the devil to look or dwell in,” Cam stated.
Speaking about his relationship with Jasmin, Cam made it clear that their connection is genuine and not based on any kind of arrangement or cheating. He sees their bond as a journey of growth and self-discovery.
“When you’re living in your truth, a lot of people want the benefits without also accepting the bulls**t. But when you cite the source of who that comment is coming from, you’re not mine either,” Cam said.
So, for now, Cam Newton is confident that he isn’t ready to take the plunge into marriage with Jasmin Brown. He’s focused on finding his truth and living life on his terms.
