“My question to Drake would be this: When LeBron, at any point in his career, was playing the Toronto Raptors, who did you go for? You went for the Toronto Raptors, right? Him being mad at LeBron for rapping Kendrick’s lyrics is the same as LeBron being mad at him for cheering for the Toronto Raptors,” Daniels said.
This back-and-forth is not happening in a vacuum. Just earlier this month, Drake dropped a track called Fighting Irish Freestyle. The song is packed with references to his relationship with LeBron. And after listening to his bars, it’s clear that he still has a lot on his mind despite the friend-type drama. And even if all of this goes on further too far, let’s not forget that Drake has a tattoo of LeBron’s face.
To be honest, I’m all for artists expressing their opinions, even if it means stirring up some controversy. But at the same time, it’s important to remember that we’re all part of the same industry. We should be supporting each other instead of tearing each other down.
