A NYPD Officer Melissa Mercado Explicit Pole Dancing Rap Video Goes Viral

A video of a New York City Police Department (NYPD) detective’s obscene pole dancing went viral online, drawing outrage. In a World Hip Hop music video, Melissa Mercado appeared wearing a skimpy costume.

Her video received backlash after becoming popular on social media. The New York Post cited a detective officer’s statement regarding Mercado’s video: “I have no words.”

According to the recent article, Mercado began working with Bronx special victims in 2018 after joining the NYPD as a Grade 3 detective.

Hempstead rapper S-Quire’s single video, Doin That, incorporates Mercado’s contentious performance. The rapper may be heard saying while she twerks to the song:

“I wanna tell you ’bout a girl named Keisha.”

“I like the way she’s doing that, the way she’s sliding up the pole.”

NYPD’s statement on Melissa Mercado

According to the New York Post, many officials expressed concern over Mercado’s pornographic film going popular online, but many others claimed it was her own business.

The magazine was informed by a police union source: “What she’s doing really has nothing to do with her as an employee, as an NYC detective,”

Additionally, according to the police officer, Mercado was not wearing any clothing that would have identified her as a detective or connected her to the police force.

If Mercado hasn’t told the department about her profession, there may be consequences if she was paid to appear in the hip-hop video or if she performs similar acts as a side gig.
