Law enforcement authorities announced the arrest of a second person in connection with the death of Caleb Wilson, a student at Southern University. The arrest comes after an extensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding Wilson’s tragic death.

Baton Rouge Police Chief TJ Morse reported that one suspect was arrested in the death of Southern University student Caleb Wilson. The suspect was identified as Wylie native Caleb McCray, a 23-year-old recent Southern University graduate. Police said McCray and two other men, while wearing boxing gloves, punched the Southern University fraternity pledge member in the chest several times before he collapsed, had a seizure, and died. Police charged McCray with felony criminal hazing and manslaughter.
Caleb McCray’s bond was set at a total of $100,000. $75,000 for manslaughter and $25,000 for hazing. Late Friday night, he posted bond and was released. On Monday (March 10), Baton Rouge Police Department arrested a second suspect in the Southern University hazing death of Caleb Wilson. Baton Rouge police arrested Kyle Thurman in West Baton Rouge on Monday. It’s also been reported that a third suspect has been identified as Isiah Smith. He is still wanted. The second and third suspects are both facing felony hazing charges.
