ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that the Phoenix Suns sacked head coach Mike Budenholzer after just one season. After the Suns had a very poor season in Budenholzer’s one year as manager, it was widely expected that he would leave.

Many people thought the Suns would at least compete for one of the top six slots in the West and avoid the play-in round, but instead they missed the playoffs completely.
But the Suns once again struggled with injuries throughout the season, with Kevin Durant sustaining a late-season ankle sprain during a final playoff run and Bradley Beal finding it difficult to stay healthy.
The Suns ended up placing 11th in the Western Conference with a 36-46 record. With a Durant deal on the table after he was dangled at the deadline, a big offseason is ahead. Due to his no-trade clause, Durant was able to avoid being sent back to the Golden State Warriors and end the season in Phoenix.
