You know that infamous O.J. Simpson trial? Well, apparently, Robert Shapiro, one of the defense attorneys, has come out and spilled the beans. He recently revealed that he knew the glove wouldn’t fit O.J. after he tried it by himself.
Now, for those of you who don’t know, the gloves were a key piece of evidence in the trial. The prosecution argued that the gloves found at the crime scene belonged to O.J. But Shapiro, being the slick lawyer he is, had a different plan in mind. He knew those gloves wouldn’t fit, and he let O.J. go along with the whole charade.
The famed attorney told Megyn Kelly that the prosecution, led by Marcia Clark, failed to understand the evidence, were not ready for the trial and insisted more than one knife was used in the brutal slaying.
He also believes at least two people involved in the murders.
‘I tried the glove on. It was a little bit wide in my palm and a little bit long in my fingers. O.J. Simpson has enormous hands and I knew that the glove would not fit him. No question about it. Wouldn’t even be close,’ Shapiro tells Megyn Kelly while appearing on her Fox Broadcasting special that aired Tuesday night.
He added that he told Simpson to stand as close as he could to the jury when he he was asked to try on the glove in court.
Then, he urged the disgraced football star to hold it up like the ‘Olympic Torch’ and tug on it, because he knew it wouldn’t fit.
Shapiro also revealed that after the not guilty verdict was read out, Simpson whispered in his ear: ‘You told me this would be the result from the beginning. You were right.’
Kelly also asks Shapiro if it felt odd to try on a glove that possibly belonged to a murderer.
‘That is a very compelling question that I’ve never even thought about, and we’d looked at that glove, every expert had looked at that glove,’ says Shapiro.
‘It did have stains on it, did have certain cuts on it. I didn’t consider it, but, it’s kind of an eerie thought when you say that.
‘As you say it now, it is chilling, but it wasn’t something that I contemplated or thought about at the time.’
So there you have it, folks. Robert Shapiro just dropped a bombshell about the O.J. Simpson trial. Who knows what other secrets are lurking in the shadows of high-profile cases? There could be more to that murder case.
