After the music mogul assaulted his then-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, a security officer allegedly pushed Sean “Diddy” Combs against the wall, claiming that Combs attempted to bribe him. Combs is currently on trial in Manhattan on several sex crime charges.
In 2016, while working as a security guard at the InterContinental in Century City, Los Angeles, Israel Florez saw Combs brutally assault Ventura on a security camera. Florez testified that Combs attempted to pay him after the assault on Monday, May 12, when Combs was on trial for a number of sex offenses.
The security camera footage shows Combs pursuing Ventura through a hotel lobby before slamming her to the ground and holding her by the throat. She is lying on the ground, still, and he kicks her. He also tosses something at her once.
After responding to a call regarding a woman in distress on the sixth floor of the hotel, Florez, who is currently an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, told the jury on Monday that he found Combs sitting on a chair in just a towel, “slouched down, like with a blank stare … like a devilish stare, just looking at me.”
“Don’t tell nobody,” Combs allegedly added, offering him a wad of cash, which Florez took to be a bribe.
