Fans are both shocked and saddened by the reported breakup of Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s nearly ten-year romance. Us Weekly was informed on Wednesday by a person close to the couple that they had broken up, saying:
Perry, 40, is obviously disappointed about the non-contentious breakup, but she is also relieved to avoid getting divorced again, which she has called the lowest point of her life. According to the insider, tensions had been building for months, so this was a “long time coming.”
Their connection seems to be strained for a number of reasons. Perry has been turning to her art as a coping mechanism while on her “Lifetimes” tour, which ends on December 7.
Although she and Bloom, 48, have mostly lived in their second Montecito house, the source said she is “keeping busy” and “distracted” when traveling, even renting out her Westcott home in Montecito, California.

Apparently, one of the main causes of their disagreement is the unfavorable reviews of Perry’s most recent album, “143.” Perry was “deeply frustrated” by the album’s lackluster reception, an insider told People.
