One of the most talked-about athletes in sports right now, Caitlin Clark, the star of the Indiana Fever, is going through a difficult time in terms of both her emotional health and her on-court performance.
Fans expressed concern after Clark looked serious during a press conference after a string of bad shooting performances, claiming she appeared clearly upset.
Back-to-back games against top teams highlighted Clark’s recent shooting woes, as she shot 10-of-34 from the field and a dismal 1-for-17 from three-point range.
Clark talked candidly about her frustration following Indiana’s 88-69 defeat to the Las Vegas Aces. She stated: “There are going to be stretches that are really good and there’s going to be stretches that aren’t as good,”.
“Obviously it’s frustrating. I felt like I shot it better tonight. A few that felt really good off my hand and it just didn’t go down. It is what it is. You come into the gym the next day and try to get better.”
The missed shots have taken center stage, especially for an athlete who has long been praised for her exceptional shooting range, even though she scored 19 points and dished out 10 assists in that game. In a video that went viral online, Clark appeared composed, with red eyes and a nearly crying face.
Her remarks highlight a larger issue that many athletes, particularly those who have risen as quickly and conspicuously as Clark, have while adjusting to life in the spotlight.
