Angel Reese Could Get Too Good to Be in Chicago Sky Soon

On Tuesday evening in Minnesota, Angel Reese made WNBA history once again by achieving her 10th consecutive double-double, finishing the game with 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 assists in a lopsided 98-61 defeat against the Lynx.

This achievement makes her the only player in WNBA history to have multiple streaks of 10 or more consecutive double-doubles. Reese’s performance stood out amidst the struggles of the 7-16 Chicago Sky, who have had a tough time winning this season.

Her exceptional rebounding skills have been a consistent aspect of her game, and while some critics refer to her as a “me-bounding” stat-padder, her results speak volumes.

Reese is currently leading the league in rebounds and has shattered several rookie records in 2024, including the most double-doubles by a rookie (26) and the most total rebounds in a single season (446).

Additionally, she now holds the record for the most consecutive double-doubles in a season with 15, achieved earlier this year. Although Tuesday night’s performance did not alter the outcome for the Sky, it served as another indication that Reese is rapidly establishing her legacy while under significant scrutiny.

Even in the loss, Reese distinguished herself through her hustle and determination, albeit with some areas for improvement. She committed nine turnovers against the Lynx, which continues to be a challenge for her this season, as she currently leads the league in turnovers. However, according to Collier, this is all part of the development process.
