Former NBA player Jeff Teague stirred some controversy with his statements during the most recent episode of his podcast, Club 520, on Wednesday.
While discussing LeBron James’s impressive performances, Teague and his co-hosts debated which phase or era of James’s career was the most remarkable. Teague emphasized that he believed James was at his peak when he played for the Miami Heat and even made the shocking claim that the star forward was using steroids.
He said: “He was on steroids. He had to sit out, he was on steroids for real. Legit, he was on steroids. Allegedly,”. “They started testing for HGH and… he had to sit out. He said his back was hurting and he sat out for like three weeks and came back skinny.”

As expected, the accusation regarding James’s alleged use of performance-enhancing substances quickly spread across social media, leading Teague to set the record straight just a few hours later, stating that his comments were meant to be humorous.
Teague took to Instagram to share a story saying, “Y’all weird I was joking about [LeBron] he was just that dominant chill.”
Clearly not wishing for his earlier remarks to be interpreted seriously, Teague retracted his statements and clarified that they were not intended to be taken literally.
