Powerlifter influencer Stefi Cohen has been arrested on domestic violence charges. It’s all over the news and the socials. People are shocked because she seemed like such a cool athlete and influencer, but hey, you never know what goes on behind closed doors.
It goes to show that you can’t always judge a book by its cover. Just goes to show that you never really know what these athletes are capable of.
The 33-year-old was arrested in Miami and charged with domestic violence battery, TMZ Sports reports.
Since then, more information has come out, and it paints an incredible picture of what might be going on.
The Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office won’t file a misdemeanor battery charge against Cohen after her boyfriend and alleged victim, boxer Tristan Hamm, refused to cooperate with prosecutors. The case was closed officially on Wednesday, as first reported by TMZ.
Now, Hamm is claiming that Stefi Cohen is the victim of ‘extortion’ and ‘abuse’ at the hands of an illegal immigrant.
The 33-year-old, whose full name is Stefanie Cohen Magarici, is allegedly the victim of a ‘bigger’ crime.
Tristan Hamm shared a statement with TMZ, saying, “Sometimes the truth just takes a little longer to catch up. This was a complete misunderstanding; neither party called the police, and yet an arrest was made.”
“What’s really happening here is bigger: Stefanie is being extorted by an illegal immigrant who defrauded her and her employees for years and is now manipulating the legal system to continue that abuse. This arrest only gained traction because of two bogus cases tied to the same individual, which distorted the perception of the officers. She’s innocent, plain and simple. Her case being dismissed today is proof of this.”
“What we’re dealing with is a calculated scheme to defame her and defraud her as well as the media and millions of Americans in an attempt to cover up his immigration and financial scheme. And it’s finally coming to light.”
