Even though training is well underway, the superstar tandem of Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes has a lot on its plate. The quarterback and tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs have shared the first glimpse of their newest endeavor, a posh steakhouse.
A video titled “The First Taste” was posted to their Instagram account by their just-opened restaurant, 1587 Prime, on Tuesday, July 29. Kelce and Mahomes demonstrate and try a few menu items in the video.
The truffle butter was one of the things, and Mahomes fell really in love with it. In the video, Mahomes stated, “I was like, ‘yeah,’ I could tell from the first bite.”
However, Kelce suggests that Mahomes sample some of the other butters. The actor from “Happy Gilmore 2” tells Mahomes, “You need some of that, dog,” after tasting a different type of butter.
Later this summer, 1587 Prime will open in downtown Kansas City’s Loews Hotel. The restaurant comes through a collaboration with Noble 33, a Miami-based hospitality firm. There is no information available on 1587 Prime, but according to a statement on the restaurant’s website, patrons can anticipate “curated menus rooted in quality and intention” and “a tailored experience, from custom wine selections to personalized service.”
The restaurant will also include two levels and 10,000 square feet, with a meat display, a state-of-the-art chef’s kitchen, and multiple private dining areas. 1587 Prime has not yet been given an opening date as of this writing.
