After a busy summer that also saw co-host Shannon Sharpe depart the show, Skip Bayless left FS1’s “Undisputed” on August 2, 2024, marking his departure from the program.
However, it appears that Bayless is still being discussed on the radio. After a hiatus of over a year, the 73-year-old broadcaster is returning with a brand-new football program produced by Underdog, the same company that creates the well-liked show “Gil’s Arena,” which is hosted by former NBA player Gilbert Arenas.

In an interview with The Athletic, where he expressed his excitement about the show, Bayless revealed the news. Bayless stated: “I’m not exaggerating to you,” “I’m telling you, the God’s truth, I’m more on fire for this than I have ever been.”

The title of Bayless’ upcoming program is “The Arena: Gridiron.” Alongside Arenas, former NFL coach Jay Gruden, and former All-Pro cornerback and Super Bowl winner Aqib Talib, he will serve as the show’s host. Six-time Pro Bowler Gerald McCoy and former quarterback Cody Kessler are reportedly scheduled to appear on the show on a regular basis.
As an NBA analyst in retirement, the three-time All-Star has established himself. Fans naturally questioned why he was included in a brand-new football-themed program.
