Caitlin Clark Involved in a Furious Altercation With Referee

Following Tuesday night’s Indiana Fever defeat to the Dallas Wings, the injured Caitlin Clark yelled at a WNBA official. A heated moment involving the 23-year-old sensation was captured on camera following the Fever’s 81-80 defeat in Indianapolis.

With fewer than two seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, guard Kelsey Mitchell made a three-point shot to win the game for the Fever, who were down by one point.

But instead, the ball struck the backboard, giving the struggling Wings their eleventh victory of the year. Caitlin Clark, who has been out for about a month due to a groin injury, approached official Amy Bonner on the court as the 9-24 Wings celebrated their victory on the road.

Additionally, Clark was seen on ESPN expressing her annoyance as the referee seemed to gesture toward the bench. There were other Fever players who seemed to have a problem with the refereeing besides the two-time All-Star. Head coach Stephanie White criticized the “double standard” in the physical game’s officiating after the match. With the defeat, the Fever fell to 18-15.

In the WNBA rankings, they are ranked sixth. In her second season, Clark has sustained a number of ailments. Since July 15, the 2024 Rookie of the Year has been absent.
