Glamorous firefighter Cara Stapleton got arrested for beating up her boyfriend for cheating on her? I know, it’s wild!
Apparently, she found out he was cheating and decided to take matters into her own hands. And the crazy part, she beat him up in front of a cop.
Cara Stapleton, 25, was seen punching a man several times in the face as he lay on the ground of a parking lot in Quincy, Massachusetts, Sunday, police said.
An officer spotted the alleged attack and ‘activated my emergency siren to alert the two parties’, he wrote in an incident report.
‘This is when I again witnessed Stapleton open hand slap [the man] in the face,’ he said.
Stapleton, who graduated from the Boston Fire Department earlier this month, then allegedly told police the man was her ‘boyfriend, no ex-boyfriend,’ and that he had cheated on her.
The couple had just been removed from a waterfront restaurant and Stapleton had a ‘strong odor’ of alcohol and bloodshot eyes, police said.
As she was handcuffed, Stapleton asked the officer to ‘take the handcuffs off of her because she has to be at EMT school the following morning,’ the police report said.
Stapleton allegedly added that she was afraid she would lose her job if she was arrested, WCVB reported.
‘When I informed her that I cannot remove those handcuffs is when she stated that she will lose her job if she’s arrested,’ the police report read.
Meanwhile her boyfriend, or ex-boyfriend, repeatedly swore at police and denied he was injured, per police reports.
The man was reportedly ‘extremely uncooperative’ at the police station during the booking process.
Stapleton was arraigned Monday on charges of assault and battery on an intimate partner.
She pleaded not guilty and was released on her own recognizance.
The cadet was also ordered to stay away from the man she allegedly assaulted.
But on a serious note, domestic violence is never okay, no matter what the circumstances. It’s important to remember that violence is never the answer and there are always healthier ways to deal with relationship issues.
