Jaylen Wright of the Miami Dolphins Gets Surgery Before NFL Season

Following an accident earlier this week, Jaylen Wright, 22, had surgery on his leg Thursday night. Head coach Mike McDaniel acknowledged the procedure, saying it was only a “small” one.

Additionally, he downplayed concerns that Wright would miss Week 1 but the entire NFL season. The Dolphins re-signed the running back, but they have since added Jamycal Hasty.

As the 120th pick in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, he had previously joined the Dolphins. During his time with the New England Patriots the previous season, he ran for 69 yards.

Since they were teammates with the San Francisco 49ers, McDaniel is well aware of the 205-pound talent. The Dolphins have now included Hasty in their practice squad. Tyreek Hill might return for the team’s September 7 game against the Indianapolis Colts, so it’s not all bad news.

The 42-year-old McDaniel is certain the wide receiver will be healthy enough to play.
