On Tuesday, Shedeur Sanders responded to Dillon Gabriel’s “entertainers” and “competitors” statement made during a preseason match against the Philadelphia Eagles last Saturday.
In a lighthearted manner, Sanders explained that Gabriel’s words didn’t bother him. He also mentioned that Gabriel spoke to him on the flight back to Cleveland after the game, clarifying that the “entertainers” he mentioned were actually media members, not Sanders himself.
Sanders responded on Tuesday: “Honestly, I don’t even think about anything. Words or anything, you know at this point, can’t do anything to me,” Sanders said Tuesday. “I know that God put the ability and power within me to not even think about nobody else’s comments and not care. It is what it is. I spoke with him. He told me on the plane. He came up to me and was like, ‘Nah, bro, that wasn’t at you. I see how they trying to spin it.’ I’m not gonna lie, I’m not tripping, regardless of whatever it was. Nobody’s words or anything affects me.”

A journalist then asked, “So did you trust him when he said it wasn’t [about] you?”
“Did I trust him? I feel like you’re trying to create some drama here,” Sanders replied, laughing. He further added, “Well, [the reporter’s] just doing his job. That’s what he’s supposed to do.”
However, the former Colorado standout went on to speculate whether Gabriel intended to imply something about Sanders or not. Sanders stated: “Um, do I feel like he did? I don’t know. And that’s not on me to sit here and be like, ‘Oh, he did it,'” “That’s not going to change my life in any way.”
