A Suspension Looms Over Angel Reese After Most Recent Technical Foul

Angel Reese for "Unrivaled" league

Angel Reese‘s remarks about her future with the Chicago Sky made news on Wednesday. She told the Chicago Tribune that she would not be “settling for the same s— we did this year” and that the team should get some outstanding players. The WNBA player stated that her words were taken out of context and stressed that she did not want to disparage her current teammates.

After that, Reese and her current Sky teammates destroyed the Connecticut Sun 88-64 to raise their season record to 10-30. Along with her 18 points and 13 rebounds, Reese also received a technical penalty for making contact with Aaliyah Edwards during a positional battle.

This is by no means the most serious infraction, but since it is Reese’s eighth of the season, the technical decision might have a big effect. She will serve a one-game punishment during the Sky’s next game, which is Friday against the Indiana Fever, if it isn’t revoked, which it very well might be.

Reese would be the first WNBA player this season to surpass the eight-technical threshold, which was raised from seven last year.
