Officially, Russell Wilson‘s time with the New York Giants is done. Head coach Brian Daboll will consider starting rookie Jaxson Dart against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4 because the Giants are now in last place in the NFC East with a 0–3 record.
After throwing for 450 yards and three touchdowns in Week 2 of New York’s overtime loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Wilson, 36, appeared to quell clamor for Dart to start.
However, he was even jeered by the home crowd at MetLife Stadium during a terribly lackluster effort against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3.
Against the Chiefs, Wilson completed 56.3% of his throws for 160 yards, two interceptions, and no touchdowns. Following the game, Wilson informed reporters:
“I think there’s highs and lows and there’s always tough moments,” “You gotta have thick skin, you gotta be able to know who you are, know the player you are and what you’re capable of.”
Wilson and his wife, Ciara, were excited to move to New York City after Wilson initially signed with the Giants this offseason.
Even if the former Super Bowl champion’s life isn’t going as planned, Ciara made sure he felt loved when he was benched on Tuesday, September 23.
She captioned, “The Carousel of Life,” alongside a number of highlight images and videos that she shared on Instagram. There are plenty of reasons to grin 🖤.
