Rumors that LeBron James was considering leaving the Los Angeles Lakers to join a team where he could be the main character and contend for the championship dominated his early offseason. However, it appears like he will continue to wear the purple and gold jersey at the Crypto.com arena for the time being. While some Lakers supporters are relieved, others aren’t sure if it was the best course of action for his career.
James, who is forty years old now, is running out of time to get another ring to complete the five. According to Boosie BadAzz, the Lakers aren’t the ideal team for him to pursue that goal.
He believes they won’t be competitive going into the 2025–2026 season.
Luka Doncic was also mentioned by Boosie in an interview with DJ Vlad. Even if the Lakers want the Slovenian to be the team’s new face, he still needs to demonstrate that he can play the lead position. He joined the team in February. Boosie emphasized that LeBron could not continue to be the top pick. He wants The King to switch time zones and pack his baggage instead.
Boosie stated: “I feel like ain’t nobody really believing them with LeBron aging,” “Luka gotta come back [from EuroBasket] and show ’em what it is…”
“I don’t think they really looking at Bron like a [man] who can take that motherf***** and win a championship by himself,”
“He say he ain’t got long, I say he should go to Cleveland and team up with them boys. Get one and call it a day. Him and Donovan Mitchell, with them two big old boys, [Evan] Mobley and them boys. That’s a hell of a team.”
Perhaps the 42-year-old rapper is right. To be fair, he didn’t personally critique James’ performances; instead, he only mentioned how few people “believe” in the roster. Of course, there is cause for a modicum of pessimism.
