The Chicago Sky have placed Angel Reese on suspension. Reese is being disciplined for making “detrimental” remarks against her own colleagues.
The “organizational decision” to suspend Reese for half of a game was disclosed by Sky coach Tyler Marsh. Additionally, they said that the choice was made “top down.”

“Just going to handle it internally, and that’s kind of what it’s been,” Marsh stated. After the decision, The Sky issued a statement regarding the suspension.
According to the statement: “The Chicago Sky values the safety, respect, and well-being of every player,” “We are committed to accountability so our players can stay focused on playing basketball.” “Because of statements detrimental to the team made by Angel Reese during league-mandated media, she will not play in the first half of the game on September 7 against the Las Vegas Aces.
“This matter has been handled and resolved internally, and we are moving forward as a team.”
Reese had her ninth technical foul of the season on Friday, and she is already serving a one-game ban. This week, she harshly criticized her teammates, stating that she is “not settling for the same s— we did this year.”
The Sky need “to get great players” this offseason, according to Reese. During the statements, she also mentioned teammates who were dropped. Reese stated: “We can’t rely on Courtney [Vandersloot] to come back [from her ACL tear] at the age that she’s at,”
“I know she’ll be a great asset for us, but we can’t rely on that” “We need someone, probably a little younger with some experience, somebody who’s been playing the game and is willing to compete for a championship and has done it before.”
