In Light of the $14,491 Fine, the Doctor Reveals CeeDee Lamb’s Return Timeline

Now it’s CeeDee Lamb, who will probably be out for a while. Lamb suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter of the Cowboys‘ shocking Week 3 loss to Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears after carrying a handoff for a loss of yards.

The official diagnosis will probably be a high-ankle sprain because of his outwardly twisted ankle, though it’s still unknown how severe it is. If all goes well, his injury will only be considered a grade one tear, which usually implies the athlete will only be out for one to two weeks.

However, if it turns out to be a grade-two tear, his absence will undoubtedly be at least four to six weeks long. Things are looking extremely bleak for the Cowboys right now, but nothing will be definite until he can have an MRI on Monday morning.

The timing of Lamb’s early departure from Sunday’s game couldn’t have been worse for Dallas or Lamb himself. The only reliable source of productivity for the Cowboys’ offense throughout the first two weeks of the season was his 222 receiving yards on 16 total grabs.
