Marcus Jordan, the son of Michael Jordan, has reached an agreement with prosecutors to resolve his DUI case, which includes a requirement to write an apology letter to one of the officers he insulted during his arrest.
Documents obtained by TMZ Sports reveal that on September 12, Marcus signed a pretrial intervention agreement in Orange County, Florida, aiming for the dismissal of his criminal charges.
The documents indicate that Marcus has to fulfill several conditions over the next year, and if he does, prosecutors have consented to drop the three charges—possession of ketamine, resisting an officer without violence, and DUI—stemming from his well-known encounter with law enforcement in February.
Marcus is required to undergo random drug testing, make a $1,000 charitable contribution, install an interlock device in his vehicle, complete 50 hours of community service, and, among other conditions, write a 250-word apology letter to the officer who arrested him.
The case against Marcus was initiated after he was alleged to have drunkenly gotten his Lamborghini SUV stranded on train tracks during a night out in Maitland, Florida.
During his arrest, police footage showed Marcus mentioning his famous father in an apparent attempt to evade repercussions, but officers reported that he acted disrespectfully throughout his detainment.
Marcus has only briefly addressed the incident in public but has claimed multiple times since the arrest that he has become sober.
