The NBC broadcast captured the heated conversation between star tight end Travis Kelce and Andy Reid prior to the Chiefs coach bumping into Kelce during the team’s Week 3 victory against the Giants. This is not the first time the two have spoken to one another on the sidelines, or even touched each other, as Kelce famously did during Super Bowl LVIII.
However, in the heat of battle, as has previously happened with Kelce and Reid, what transpired on the field remained on the field.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Kelce played down the tense situation. He stated:
“I love that guy, man,” “There’s nothing outside of this building that’s going to make me feel any different way. We know exactly each other’s intentions. I think what Coach Reid does best is he challenges guys to be at their best, and I love that about him. It definitely helped me take my game to another level that game.”Â
Reid was singing along with the song, even joking about Kelce as he talked about what happened after the game. Reid said:
“Don’t make too much of it,” “He’s a passionate guy and I love that part. I’ve been through a lot of things with him so that’s all part of it. I love that he loves to play the game. That’s what I love. It’s an emotional game, so I’ll take it.”Â
“I love Travis’s passion, so I’m O.K. with that. We didn’t have enough of it in the second quarter, we weren’t where we needed to be. He knows when to back off the pedal and he knows when to push it too. That’s part of what I love about him. The guy’s all-in. Just sometimes I have to be the policeman.
“He was all-in. He was all-in. Listen, he’s an emotional guy. He’s Irish.”
The Chiefs’ victory over the Giants saved them from a 0–3 start, but their offense has been in neutral, which may be the cause of any resentment between players and the caller. However, Kelce and Reid are likely to return because they have been here before.
