Stephen A. Smith Says Trump is Coming For LeBron?

During a fiery First Take segment, NBA analyst Stephen A. Smith warned that President Donald Trump may soon set his sights on the WNBA. This warning comes after recent federal arrests and investigations into the NBA and NFL.

Miami Heat’s Terry Rozier and Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups were arrested following an investigation into a sports-betting crackdown.

Smith referenced the FBI’s high-profile arrests of figures linked to a gambling network, calling it “only the beginning.” In the viral clip, he said, “Trump is coming. He’s coming.” and he added, “Don’t be surprised if the WNBA is next on his list.”

Smith argued that Trump’s political motives and desire for control over cultural spaces make women’s basketball a potential next battleground. While no WNBA scandal has surfaced, Smith cautioned that the league’s activism and visibility could draw scrutiny, calling the moment a “tip of the iceberg” to professional sports as a whole.
