Michael Porter Jr. has been politely encouraged by the Brooklyn Nets to avoid certain topics on podcasts. Which is PR-speak for: “Please, for the love of the franchise, do not go full YouTube conspiracy mode on air again.” Because sure, the man can knock down jumpers from anywhere, but when it comes to open mic situations, let’s just say his accuracy drops faster than a rookie in trade talks.
Look, in today’s NBA, podcasts are more dangerous than guarding Steph Curry after a timeout. One wrong sentence and suddenly you’re trending on X next to someone who thinks birds aren’t real. The Nets didn’t just give advice, they threw him a verbal seatbelt and said, “Buckled? Good. Now only talk about basketball.”
Speaking on the Ball in the Family podcast, Porter Jr. said, “For the most part I’m chilling, I’m not trying to say nothing crazy no more.”
