Khloe Kardashian has opened up about why she’s reconciled with her ex, Tristan Thompson.
Just when we thought Khloe Kardashian finally deleted Tristan Thompson like an expired contact list entry from 2018, she shocked everyone and re-added him with full notification access. Yes, Tristan, the father of her kids.
Khloe recently opened up about why she’s letting her ex back into her life, and let’s just say, the internet reacted like it’s the end of the world.
Her reason? Tristan Thompson is still the father of her kids!
“I think what I find so funny is that people are always like, ‘How do you let Tristan back in?’” Khloe, 41, said during the Nov. 19 episode of her Khloe In Wonder Land podcast. “And I’m like, ‘Well, Tristan is not back in.’ He’s just the father of my kids, so he’s going to be around his kids and I’m really grateful that he is.”
She continued, “I love that he has a great relationship with his kids. I think that’s a beautiful blessing and I’m never going to get in the way of that. I think it’s so important for that relationship to maintain and be as strong as possible.”
Well, it’s not a bad idea letting the father of your kids into your life to continue co-parenting.
While the Khloud founder is grateful for their “great co-parenting” dynamic, she noted that it “definitely took time” for them to become cordial again following the NBA player’s cheating scandal. Specifically, for her part, she went to “a lot of therapy” and addressed her “healing” at her own pace.
“I’m not invested in Tristan in a romantic way, so he doesn’t affect me when he does come around,” she confirmed. “He’s just like one of my friends, like, ‘Hey, what’s up? Thank you so much. Have fun with the kids.’ It’s chill, but I know a lot of it is because of the work I’ve done.”
And thanks to Kylie Jenner for being the broker of this comeback.
“Kylie is really one of the main reasons why I felt so safe and comfortable having Tatum,” she said on the Nov. 12 episode of her podcast, which featured the Khy founder as her guest. “Kylie was like, ‘Come on! Aire is six months older than Tatum.’”
Kylie also gave her older sister some words of wisdom at the time.
“When I was crying and like, ‘Why is this happening? I can’t believe it’s happening a second time,’ you were like, ‘But God makes no mistakes, and this was supposed to happen,’” Khloe reflected on their interaction. ‘“And now our sons get to grow up together.’”
So, here we are again. Tristan is back, Khloe is calm, and the internet is watching with popcorn. Will this time be different? Unknown!
