Nikola Jokic has been on some serious run this season. The Nuggets defeated the LA Clippers 130-116 on Wednesday night as Jokic tied the NBA’s highest-scoring performance of the season with 55 points. In his prior 50-point bursts, the Nuggets were 0–4.
“It’s a good feeling,” the three-time NBA MVP remarked.
He tied Oklahoma City star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who scored 55 points in a double-overtime match against Indiana on October 23.
“I think I saw everything,”, “but I think it’s hard. We are really running a lot of plays for me, all kind of different plays.” “I didn’t open the game really good,”. “I think I missed like two, three layups, and after that I felt good.”
During Denver’s winning run, Jokic has been outstanding. He is the first player in NBA history to shoot at least 60% during a six-game period and average a 35-point triple-double.
He is shooting 73.9% from the field and 55.6% from three-point range while averaging 35.8 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 11.0 assists. In an unsuccessful attempt to slow down the 7-foot Serbian, opposing opponents have thrown everything at him.
Jokic scored 25 of Denver’s 39 points in the first quarter while playing on the second night of a back-to-back.
