Tony Romo is getting roasted for his “DTF” comment about the New England Patriots.
NFL announcer, Tony Romo has done it again. During Sunday’s broadcast, Romo casually dropped a comment about the Patriots that had fans going hard at him on the socials. Yes, he used the term “DTF,” and yes, the internet exploded.
During the second quarter, the former quarterback said of the Patriots: ‘This defense is DTF. Details, toughness. And they finish.’
Lead commentator Jim Nantz said: ‘That sounds very close to what (Mike) Vrabel tells them, too. I think the T might be for technique.’
The phrase ‘DTF’ is widely accepted as a reference to casual sex, so there were many viewers that were left taken aback by Romo’s choice of wording.
And fans didn’t take it lightly as they descended on him on the internet.

‘Tell me someone clipped Tony Romo saying the Pats are DTF,’ one fan posted on X.
Another wrote: ‘Ummmm did Tony Romo just say “this team is DTF?’
An equally perpelexed fan added: ‘That’s a crazy comment and there’s no way Romo doesn’t know what that means.’
In the end, Tony Romo has survived worse, after all, he’s been in the NFL spotlight for years. But this moment will probably be replayed in highlight reels.
