Glam model Adva Lavie is in trouble with the law over allegations of using dating apps to scam wealthy older men.
The internet loves a glamorous mystery. This week’s episode stars model Adva Lavie, who has gone from glossy photos and luxury vibes to felony headlines real fast. According to reports, Adva is accused of using dating apps to target wealthy older men. And not for romance. Allegedly for burglary and extortion.
Authorities say Adva crafted a very specific strategy. Swipe right. Compliment the watch. Laugh at the jokes. Pretend to love steak dinners at expensive restaurants. Then boom. Things allegedly took a turn from candlelight to crime scene.
Detectives say she would often arrive in luxury vehicles and present herself as a successful international model.
Since the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department released a public bulletin in October seeking additional victims, more than 10 other people have contacted investigators with similar allegations, according to Detective Angela Lopez.
‘It wasn’t just elderly men,’ Lopez said to the Los Angeles Times. ‘It evolved to basically anyone she had an opportunity to steal from – male, female, business or whatnot.’
Authorities say reports tied to Lavie have surfaced not only in Southern California but also in Nevada, Florida and overseas in France and Italy, as detectives attempt to determine the full scope of the alleged scheme.
Prosecutors allege Lavie posed as a girlfriend, travel companion or as a friend to gain access to homes and financial accounts.
Lavie has pleaded not guilty and is currently on home detention with an electronic ankle monitor as detectives continue to investigate additional allegations and encourage other potential victims to come forward.
The charges against Lavie stem from alleged incidents involving at least five victims across Los Angeles County, although law enforcement officials say that number has continued to grow since her arrest.
Adva Lavie clearly had a strategic plan for trapping these wealthy older men.
