Giannis Antetokounmpo, his agency, and the Bucks reportedly started trade talks earlier this month in an attempt to move the two-time MVP before the trade deadline. Later, Antetokounmpo stated that he had not heard the news and that his agent might have participated in those discussions on his own. Regarding Antetokounmpo’s personal desires, the situation has been a little unclear.
In a victory over the Bulls on Saturday, Antetokounmpo made his court comeback for the first time in three weeks, scoring 29 points and grabbing eight rebounds. He restated some of his earlier remarks of sticking with the squad in spite of the ongoing trade rumors.
When asked if he wanted to remain in Milwaukee, he responded angrily as follows:
“I’m here. I’m here. I’m here. Don’t ask me that question. I’m here,”
“It’s disrespectful towards myself and my teammates. I wear that jersey every single day. Disrespectful towards the organization, my coaching staff and all of the people that work hard for me to come out here and say ‘I don’t want to be here’. Don’t ask me that question. I’m here, I’m putting on the jersey. And as long as I’m here I’m going to give everything I have, even in the last second of the game.”
Giannis shut down a reporter that asked if he wants to be in Milwaukee:
“I’m here. I’m here. I’m here. Don’t ask me that question. I’m here. It’s disrespectful towards myself and my teammates. I wear that jersey every single day. Disrespectful towards the organization, my… pic.twitter.com/DYCo369qtj

Despite the allegations continuing to surface, it is evident from this statement that Antetokounmpo does not wish to talk about any possible moves.
The Bucks have until February 5 to determine if they want to move Antetokounmpo in the middle of the season or whether they will wait until the offseason, like they did last year. There may be more rumors about Antetokounmpo’s future in the coming months, similar to what happened this past summer.
