Supermodel Gisele Bündchen has married jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente, formalizing a relationship that began following her high-profile divorce from NFL legend Tom Brady.
The couple wed in an intimate ceremony on Dec. 3 at their home in Surfside, according to marriage records first reported by Page Six and confirmed by TMZ. The pair obtained their marriage license in Miami-Dade County on Dec. 1.
The nuptials were a private affair attended by close family and friends. The marriage comes after a milestone year for the couple, who welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, in February 2025.
Bündchen, 45, and Valente, 38, were first linked in November 2022, just weeks after the model finalized her divorce from Brady. Brady hired Valente for his wife, and it was widely speculated that Gisele had cheated on Brady before the divorce was final. At the time, the two were seen vacationing in Costa Rica with Bündchen’s children, though sources initially described their relationship as strictly professional. Bündchen and her children originally began training at the Valente Brothers academy in Miami in 2021.
Sources close to the model told People that the friendship turned romantic in June 2023. Bündchen has previously praised the martial arts instructor for providing “comfort” and a sense of “physical and emotional balance” during her transition to single life.
This is the second marriage for Bündchen, who was married to Brady for 13 years before their 2022 split. She shares two children with the retired quarterback: Benjamin, 16, and Vivian, 13.
While Bündchen has largely kept the relationship out of the spotlight, she was spotted earlier this week at a jewelry event in São Paulo, Brazil, where she appeared to strategically obscure her left hand from photographers.
Representatives for Bündchen have not yet issued a formal public statement regarding the wedding.
